🎉 National Hispanic American Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15 each year. This month honors the cultures, contributions, and histories of American citizens whose ancestors came from Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central and South America.
In Sunnyside, where over 70% of the population identifies as Hispanic or Latino, this celebration is especially meaningful. It is a time to recognize the richness of our community’s traditions, language, food, music, and stories — and to uplift the voices that have shaped our city.
Throughout the month, local schools, community centers, churches, and businesses will host a variety of events, including cultural performances, heritage exhibits, storytelling nights, and more.
